Valéria is a bachelor in Computer Science and is currently a Master's student at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS) under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Philippe O. A. Navaux. Her research focuses on the prefetcher and the memory system of HPC systems. She is also a researcher at the University of Vale do Rio dos Sinos and Dell Brazil on Natural Language Processing. In 2019, she received a Mention of Honor for her outstanding work at the Symposium on High-Performance Computing Systems (WSCAD). Her work was invited to be extended at the journal Concurrency and Computation: Practice and Experience. In 2020, Valéria had her work selected for presentation at the 6th Career Workshop for Women and Minorities in Computer Architecture (in conjunction with MICRO-53). Since 2016, Valéria has engaged in several projects aimed at supporting women's participation and development in technology. She is a founder and member of the program.ada Women in Computing group at UFRGS and the Women in HPC Affiliate in South Brazil, conducting multiple activities to encourage women and promote diversity in technology.
